Where We Learn

T.M.J.M Govt. College Manimalakunnu is a developing Arts & Science College located in beautiful village of Thirumarady. Started in 1983, the college is only gaining experience and acts as a beacon of hope and inspiration for a large section of poor and under privileged people around the neighbouring villages.

Our institution motivates students to make them ambitious and achievement oriented. In spite of its rural setting, the institution has done well in creating an academic atmosphere to higher learning and research. Our Principal Dr.Vijaya Mohanan has been an inspiring figure in the functioning of the college. His knowledge in various areas have helped the students a lot. Now the institution offers six under graduate courses and two post graduate courses and has the unique distinction of one among the very few state-owned academic institutions in Central Kerala.

The college was recently renamed as T.M.JACOB MEMORIAL GOVT. COLLEGE MANIMALAKUNNU along with the inauguration of English and Malayalam Journalism courses by honourable Chief Minister Oomen Chandy. The introduction of these two courses has started a new phase in the college. Apart from these students also engage in various co- curricular activities like NSS, NCC, sports etc. The Chamayam club of the college has been a leading factor in promoting arts and culture in the college. The vision of the college is to impart higher education to all, especially the less privileged section of the society and to create in students a vision of education and of life.

Wake Up Youth!!!

The youth in India is passing through circumstances never experienced in the history of the nation. Our country boasts of millions of educated youth. The question is how far do they contribute to nation building. Very few people realise how important they are and what their roles are. Service is not reserved only for doctors and soldiers. It can be done by everyone.

Education's primary motive is to make youth realise things and have a vision. As Mahatma Gandhi said " Live as if you were to die tomorrow and Learn as if you were to live forever ". Where education fails to make an impact, the human resource output is reduced. Primary step towards empowering youth is to provide knowledge. Education should be imparted in such a way to encourage them to go beyond classrooms and into the society.
In a free country like ours, there are lots of choices. In a wider context he choices we make in turn decides the fate of the country. Its easy to lead a life bothering nothing and enjoying. But such a life is meaningless. Responding to the call of the nation should be the vision of every youth in the nation.
We cannot go back and start a new beginning, but we certainly can start today and make a new ending. What we require is a positive attitude and progressive thinking. Of course there will be obstacles and cynical naysayers who pulls us back. But our success depends on whether we are determined followers of dreams, rather than bowing to these naysayers. Now its wake up time for all of us.
